ALLEGED LIBEL.
♦ AT A NO-LICENSE DEMONSTRATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, Saturday. With reference to the action for libel commenced by J. J. Kelliher, law clerk, Masterton, against the Wairarapa Age for alleged libel contained in a report of a No-license anniversary meeting held at Masterton on June 30, the matter has now been settled by the defendant company publishing a full unqualified apology in both local newspapers. Mr. C. A. Pownall, solicitor, acting on behalf of J. J. Kelliher, has to-day issued a writ against Jabez Bridges, of Masterton, secretary of the No-License League, claiming' £IOO2 damages for alleged libel in connection with the recent No-license anniversary.
