SUMMARY AND FORECAST. j By Telegraph—Press Association. j Wellington, Last Night, j The Meteorological Department sup-j plies the following summary and. foreoast:—The barometer has fallen in the north, but has had a rising tendency In the south. Easterly winds, strong to gale, have prevailed, with rain northward of East Cape and Kawhia, and southerly .winds and cold and changeable weather elsewhere. Present indications are for cold and stormy ■weather with heavy Tain in most parts of the North Island and in the north-eastern districts of the South Island, cold and changeable elsewhere. Strong easterly and southerly winds are probable generally, and a slowly rising barometer everywhere shortly.
