SOME CAKE RECIPES. Rich Cheap Cake.—Beat well the yolks of three eggs and tho whites of two with oiio cup of line sugar. Beat in one-half cup condensed milk, one and two-thirds cups sifted flour, two heaping teaspoons linking powder, one-half teaspoon lemon, one teaspoon of vanilla extniet, Butter generously two large cake tins. Put together with frosting made with one white of egg and two-thirds cup of sugar beaten together. Afternoon Tea CVikes.—One cup sugar, one cup raisins, one-half cup butter, one teaspoonful cinnamon, one - half teaspoonful cloves. Stir this together, and pu'j on stove tuid let come to the boil. Cool, then add two cups of flour with'one teaspoonful of soda. Put in gem pans, and bake in a quick oven. A tea that you will appreciate is the "Mikado" Blend, a tea that costs but eighteenpence a pound, and tastes like that worth 2s. It is a good strong flavory tea, with plenty of body, and extremely pleasing to tho i>alate. For family use it is unequalled, for it is inexpensive and good. It is worth a trial, and the trial will cost you Is lid, for that is the price of a pound of "Mikado" tea. Ask your grocer.—Advt.
