FIRES.
MILL DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmcrston N\, Saturday. Tlio TiratfC Sawmilling Company's planing mill was totally destroyed by fire at 4.45 a.m. Die building was ablaze from end to end when the alarm was given, but the brigade was successful in saving the new suction-gas plant installed yesterday at a cost of £ 1100. The manager and staff were on the premises until 11 o'clock last night watching the trial run of the new plant, and when they left everything was apparently safe. There is no idea how the fire had its origin. The stock «nd machinery were insured for £SOO in the London and Lancashire, £SOO in the Queensland, and the building for £l5O in the United.
