THE DEACON FUND.
To the Editor. Sir,—We are desirous of expressing our sympathy with the misfortune of our fellow townsman, Mr. Deacon, in a practical manner. We have thought that perhaps the musical people of New Plymouth, might work up a good concert, and, if so, we are prepared to give the use of our new (Good Templar) hall, free of all charges, so that the whole of the takings could go to the ''Deacon Fund."— We are, etc., N. T. Maunder. P. E. Pepperell. Trustees.
