The new body numbers about 70 members, and embraces all professions. The one great change at which these dress reformers aim is the abolition of trousers, for which it is proposed to substitute knickerbockers. Then it is desired that the coat and the wiust.oc.it should give way to a kind of loose blouse hanging well down to the knees. The reformers further propose to discard all sorts of linen. The Cologne fiazette points out that ficrmany has hitherto had no influence in male fashions, a circumstance it attributes to the predominance of the military uniform over the civilian dress The paper considers that the fashion in men's garments will continue to be set in London.
