BURNING FATALITY
CORONER'S ENQUIRY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, August 17. At the coroner's inquest on the body of Mrs. Kelly, who was burned to death in a fire in Upper Queen street, Herbert Collier, residing next door, stated that he heard a man and woman in heated argument in the yard of Kelly's premises. The quarrel ended by the woman running inside and looking the door. He distinctly heard the woman sav, "If you killed your father, you won't kill me." This was repeated several times. Witness did not know who was speaking, only that they were man and woman. He fell asleep at five o'clock, and two hours later heard of the fire and the arrest of Andrew Kelly 011 a charge of drunkenness. Harry Thompson deposed to finding Andrew Kelly in a dazed condition when the fire was discovered. Kelly told him nobody else was in the house. The jury returned an open verdict.
