HEAT WAVE IN EUROPE
UNUSUAL TEMPERATURE. GREAT HEATH FIRE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, August 15. The temperature in London has exceeded 80 degrees in the shade for eight days in succession. A heath fire five and a half miles long swept the Surrey hills, and is threatening the King Edward Consumption Sanatorium and other dwellings. Five hundred troops have been dispatched from Aldershot to cut down a belt of trees to avert danger.
