GREATER NEW PLYMOUTH. The people of Fitzroy are to be heartily congratulated on the good judgment they displayed yesterday at the poll oil the' question of merging with the borough. We expected a strong vote in favor of the proposal, but were hardly prepared for the two-to-one majority into which the voting practically resolved itself. A decisive victory for the merging faction was necessary to warrant the Minister for International Affairs in giving effect to the result of the poll. In the light of the voting the Minister has but one course open to him, and that he will 110 doubt take without delay. We hope no time will now be lost in placing the proposition before the ratepayers of the St. Aubyn Town Board district and Vogeltown. which should form part and parcel of the town. With the Greater New Plymouth un fait accompli, the question of instituting tramways can then be tackled with every assurance of success.
