DAYLIGHT SAVING
.SOLDI BRING v. CKIOKBT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A committee of the Canterbury Gnicket Association decided to suppoi i, Mr. Sidey's Daylight Saving Bill, and the secretary was instructed to telegraph to the Christchurch members of Parliament to support the Bill. The committee al c o discussed the arrangements made locally for parades* for military training, the defence authorities having fixed certain alternate Saturdays in October, November and December. It was pointed out that unless this was altered it would mean a death blow to cricket, as youths would not join the clubs when they knew that their mfli'tan' duties would not permit them to e iter for competitions. Tt was suggested that parades should be held on consecutive Saturdays and should l>e spread over the vear and not ctmfined practically to the summer months. A deputation was appointed to wait on the officer commanding the district to place the association's views before him.
