CLEARING SALES. Attention is particularly drawn to the clearing sale which Mr. Newton King is holding at Waitara road on Wednesday next on account of Mr. H. Purdie. The cattle to be offered are some of the choicest in Taranaki, being nearly all pedigree and grade Jerseys, and having been carefully selected by the vendor during his many years of dairying, only the choicest milking strains have been retained. When it is taken into consideration that the herd has averaged over £l2 per head annually for the last two years, the keenest competition is expected. The public are reminded of the cattle sale which Mr. Newton King is holding at Pairihaka on Monday next on account of Messrs. Rutherford and Son. The vendors having sold <part of their property, the whole of their herd which which had be«n milked thereon must be disposed of. As the owners have now been dairying for many years, this being their first sule, and as all the cows have been carefully picked and culled, the stock should find a very good market.
