GRAND NATIONAL MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The Grand National meeting was concluded today in beautiful weather. The attendance, though not so large as on the preceding days, was still very good, and speculation was even more spirited, investment* for the day totalling £32,425, making £91,679 for the meeting, as compared with £60,832 last year, when bookmakers were licensed. The racing was marked by some capital finishes, and though there were several spills in the jumping race, none of them were serious. Results:—
United Hunt Club's Steeplechase, af 100 sovs; about 2>/ 2 miles.—Silver Bla*e 1, Glenmore 2, Oakley 3. Also started: King of Trumps, Kingsway, Revenge, Ta» riki, Sylvia Maid and Wirihaua. Won by three lengths. King of Trumps and Kingsway fell. Time, smin 9 l-ssec. Heathcote Handicap, of 250 aovs; 7 furlongs—Effort 1, Sea King 2, Iney 3. Also started: Undecided, Nyland, Merric Zealand, Bonny Glen, Flitaway, Shuja, Medallist, Xegative, Gold Circle, Czar Kolohol, Mumura, Turna, Firebell, Sublime and Merry Lass. Won by half a head. Time,, lmin 30 4-ssec.
Styx Hack Hurdles Handicap, of 13d sovs; once round and a distance.—Cardiff 1, Passive 2, Gaelic 3. Also started: Dogger Bank, Gold Pin, Ito, Farley Grove, Sabine, Rangiwhenua, WairaW and Togo. Won by a neck. Time, 3min 3 2-ssec.
Sydenham Hurdle Handicap, of 350 sovs; 1% miles.—Windage 1, Esperanto 2, Compass 3. Also started: Continuance, The Rover, Master Paul, Staidan, Appin, King Try, Milo and Redmond. Won by 5y 3 lengths. Continuance mi fourth. Time, 3min 17 1-dsec.
Lincoln Steeplechase Handicap, of 350 bovs; about three miles.—Sir Lethe 1, Dorando 2, Winjata 3. Also started: Corazon, Red McGregor, 'Capt. Jingle, Eurus, Lebeau, Liberty, Ribston Pippin, and Corona. The race was a chapter of accidents, as, with the exception of Ribston Pippin, only the placed horses completed the couves. Six Lethe won pulling up by over a hundred yards. Time, smin 8 l-ssec.
Redqliffs Handicap, of 130 sovs; 7 furlongs.—Eaglestone 1, Nightlight 2, Santa Glaus 3. Also started: Ahuapai, Wedge, Frivolitti, Somersault and Amarl. Won by a length. Time, lmin 32 l-ssec. Selwyn Handicap, of 200 sovs, 6 furlongs.—Czar Kolohol 1, Expansion 2, AH Guns 3. Also started: Boanerges, Countermine, Kohinoer, Odessa, Negative, Bucyland, Firebell, Edna May 11., Silkweb, Alexis, Sublime and Toanga. Won by three parts of a length. Time, lmin 17 l-sse«.
Huntcirs' Plate Handicap, of 100 sovb; 1% miles.—Hawiek 1, Shillelagh 2, Sea Dog 3. Also started: Mauri, Nedra, Miharo and Master. Won by half a length. Time, 3min 47 l-ssec.

After the race for the Tower Plate at Leicester, the stewards suspended the jockey Maher for the meeting, on account of his riding of Sallust, which finshed second. They have reported the matter to the Jockey Club. QUEENSLAND TURF CLUB HANDICAP. Received 13, 5.3 p.m. Brisbane, August 12. The Queensland Turf Club Handicap resulted:— Bernie Lass 1, J.C. 2, Black Prince 3. Fourteen started. Won by a length, a length between second and third. Time, 2min. o%sec.
AUSTRALIAN STEEPLECHASE. WON BY CONCAVE. Received 13, 5.5 p.m. Melbourne, August 12. The Australian Steeplechase, of 150 sovs., about 4 mites. AH acceptors started, Grafnav led out from Leah Kleshna, Steam and Squir. Leah Kleshna led the second time round, Grafnax close up. Squirm unseated its rider at the treble. Steam fell at the top of the hill, Minato and Leah Kleshna disputing the lead. Entering the straight the third time round, Bribery was down at the last of the treble. Concave went to the front at the back of the course, and ran homo nil easy winner by six lengths, Leah Kleshna beating Minato for second place by four lengths. Time, Bmin See*.
