The country was excellent for jumping, about lifty fences having been sparred. The hounds throw off'about 1.30 p.m.. and very soon picked up a bunny, and after a good choppy run a kill resulted. Several other runs of a similar character ensued. Later in the afternoon a hare was put up which provided some good, sport, but its cunning utood it in good stead, an after a splendid run of five miles it evaded the bounds by seeking security in a swamp. The members of the hunt were hospitably entertained by .Mr. Topliss both at lunch and afternoon tea. Mr. A. H. Halcombe, on behalf of those present, returned thanks to Mr. Topliss, and also to the Natives who own the adjoining properties for allowing the use of them, a.nd also returned thanks to Mr. Topliss for the trouble he had gone to in sparring the fences and in entertaining the mennbers. The annual point-to-point steeplechase will be held at Mr. Salway's, Bell Block, on Thursday neai. On Wednesday evening, the Hunt Club annual ball will he held in the Theatre Royal. This has the reputation of being one of the finest balls in the province, and as all arrangements are being made on the same lavish scale as heretofore, lovers of dancing can be assured of a good time.
