ENTERTAINMENTS.

SOMETHING NEW IN CINEMATOGRAPHY. Mr. Ben Fuller has just returned to Wellington from a five weeks' sojourn in Australia, during which time he travelled 4:i00 miles on the railroads of the different States, visiting Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane. Melbourne and Adelaide, and going back again to Sydney. Perhaps the most important business he transacted on behalf of his fir.ni was to secure the sole rights for New Zealand of the -kiiiemacoloi'." the new natu-ral-color cinematographic process, which is said to be a big step forward in the new art. Hitherto the colored pictures shown in New Zealand are films which have been very cleverly colored by hand, but a means has been discovered to apply the natural color photographic process to films, and the result is the "kinemacolor." These films require special machines for their projection, and they are now on the wafer, bound New Zealand wards, and will be placed in commission on their arrival. There is a movement on foot to establish a big international cinematograph agency, and Mr. J. I). Williams, of Sydney, who was a fellow-passenger of Mr. Fuller's on the Marama last week, has left for America to fix itji that end of the proposition. If it comes oil', Messrs Fuller and Sous may participate in the scheme. Whilst in Melbourne, Mr. Fuller secured the rights from Johnson and (libson, of Melbourne, of the drama-pictures. "The Double Kvent" (based on Nat G* on Id's novel), "The Mystery of. a Hansom Cab," ami "Called Hack.'' all of which were acted before the camera, in Mel bourne. Mr. Fuller stales that the picture business is still going strong in Australia, more particularly in respect to the continuous shows. These star pictures will all be shown in New Plymouth by Mr. Saunders.
