EXPLOSION OF ROCKETS
TWO SHIPS' OFFICERS HURT. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Received 11, 11.55 p.m. Sydney, August 11. While the collier Wallarah was lying in Catherine Hill Bay the chief officer. McConnachie, and the second officer, McGuire, were sleeping over a locker containing rockets. They awakened to find the cabin full of flames, but managed to escape. McConnachie is seriously injured, and McGuire is badly scorched. An explosion, caused by the rockets, followed, but the crew subdued the fire.
The Wallarah is badly damaged amidships.
