THE LATE MR. TISCH.

THE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS. The funeral of the late Mr. Tisch will take place this afternoon at the Te Hcnui Cemetery. The cortege will leave his late residence, Young street, at 2.30. Members of the New Plymouth Borough Council will act as pall bearers. Mr. G. W. Browne (deputy-Mayor) requests us to state that Mrs. Tisch desires that all attending the funeral should attend.in ordinary civilian attire. Air. Joseph 'Mackay received a telegram yesterday morning from his son, Mr. C. E. Mockay, Mayor of Wanganui, asking him to represent Wanganui at Mr. Tisch's funeral.

The headmaster of the Central school invites all the boys of atandards 3, 4, 5, and 0 to meet him at the school at 2 p.m. to attend the funeral.

Mr. J. B. Hine, ALP., has wired to the Town Clerk as follows: "Grieved to hear of the death of your town's first citizen, a kindly man to all classes; please forward to Mrs. Tisch message of deepest sympathy from myself." Mr. H. Norman Liardet has telegraphed: "I wish to express deep regret at the death of my old friend, Gustavo Tisch."

An extraordinary special meeting of the St. Aubyn Town Board was held yesterday morning, and the following motion by the chairman, seconded by Mr. W. J. Russell, was carried unanimously:—"That this award places on record their deep regret that Taranaki has been deprived of one of its best citizens, and one of Nature's gentlemen, by the death of Mr. G. Tisch, and that this 'board tender to Mrs. Tiseh their deepest sympathy on the loss of her beloved husband, and earnestly pray that the Almighty ■will comfort and sustain her in her sad bereavement, and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Tisch."
