DANGEROUS PEOPLE. STRONG PROTEST AGAINST THE MORMONS IN CANADA. Ottawa, June 15. The Prestbyteriiin General Assembly which. is in session here, demanded to-day •that stringent measures should be taken for the suppression of the Mormon danger ia Canada. I A number of clergymen delivered earnest addresses against Mormon ism. The Rev. McLaren, of Vancouver, de-. claired tiliat the Mormon code of morals was a positive danger to Canada. The Rev. 'Mr. Priogle, of Sydney, N.S., asserted thait Mormons should not be allowed in Canada, while the Rev. Mr. Reid, of Calgary, declared that the Mormons were the most dangerous people in- the West. The following resolution was adopted:— "This assembly deems it advisable to call attention to the danger whieh necessarily attaches to Mormonism, and to utter a warning against the insidious methods of Mormon missionaries. The assembly regards with deep regret and graive anxiety the detestable doctrine held and preached by the Mormon Church, the extravagant political ambitions cherished by the Mormons, t ; he absolute obedience to their religious leaders required of its members, not only in religious, but also in political and material relationships. This a.ssembly requests the Home Mission committee in the Mormon district to give special attention to this department of the work."

I SHOWER OF BANK NOTES. Paris, June 14. The Rue Mayran was startled by a " shower o'f bank-notes' yesterday morning. It was the result of to 6 great caution. A Turk who was staying with a friend who lives in the street hid his notes under the sheets of his bed, and when the bed-maker set to work and shook the sheets out of a window in the morning the notes took flight. The honest ones gave them to the housekeeper, but one boy only pretended to do so, and vanished with his find. . The police are looking for him.
