NEW PLYMOUTH GAS COMPANY
ANNUAL MEETING. The thirty-third annual meeting of shareholders of the above company was held at the company's office, Brougham street, on Monday, Mr. A. Shuttleworth presiding. The chairman, in moving the adop- ' tion of the report and balance-sheet, stated that 20,000,000 cubic feet of gas had been sold, 117 new services had been installed during the year, bringing the total number of consumers up to 1850. Cookers, gas stoves, bath heaters, etc., still continue in demand, and the company have a large number out on hire; liberal provision has been made for depreciation on these appliances. Capital account.—The total outlay on plant, meters, mains, services, and property account was £1409, as compared with £2llß test year, a reduced outlay of £7OO. The total revenue for the year from sale of gas and residuals amounted to £8175, deducting therefrom all expenses and interest on debentures to July I, 1911, and adding the balance brought forward from the previous year it leaves an available balance of, £2312, and after providing for the usual dividend there remains a balance of £462 to be carried forward.
The retiring directors, Messrs. Shuttleworth and T. Furlong, were reelected. Messrs. J. ft. McKcllar and J. C. Davies were re-elected auditors. A hearty vote sf thanks was accorded to tFe directors for their services during the past year.
