THE THEATRE ROYAL.

DIRECTORS' ANNUAL REPORT. At the annual meeting of directors of the Theatre Company, to be held on Tuesday, the 15th inst., the directors' report will be read as follows:—''ln submitting the seventh annual report, your 1 directors are pleased to state that the ) company has made further satisfactory progress, and with the development that is certain to take place in the town and district within the next twelve months the future of the company is assured. The interior of the theatre has been renovated at considerable expense, and a staircase added to the cast side of the dress circle in order to give additional security in case of fire. The installation of the electric light has now been completed throughout, and, in consequence, notwithstanding that the theatre has been in more continuous use, the lighting account has been reduced. It is proposed to replace the seating accommodation in the dress circle with up-to-date tip-up seats. There is a sum of £219 13s lid to the credit of the profit and loss account, out of which it is proposed to pay a dividend of 4 per cent., absorbing a sum of £135. It will be necessary to elect two directors in place of Messrs. Nixon and Messenger, who have resigned their positions."
