TOURNAMENT AT TIMARU. By Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. Thirty-four teams book part in a six-aside hockey tournament to-day. Ashburton won the senior men's; Geraldine, the junior; Avoca (Timaru) the seniors girls'; Temuka High School the junior girls'.

TARANAKI REPS. The selectors, Messrs. Anderson and Thomson, for the Southern Division, and Messrs. Beal and Harris, for the Northern Division, have selected the following to play in a trial match at Hawera on Wednesday nwrt, August 9. Mr. Pratt will select the rep. team to play Wanganui from the players:— 1 Southern team: Kemp, Hurrell, Sargent, Bassett, Hutton, Sage, Griffen (Hawera), L. Curtis, R. B. Anderson, L. Tocker, Cameron (Stratford). . North, team: Stephens, Allen, M. Harris, Sutherland, Priest (Inglewood), Wade, Harrison, Burdekin (Eltham) Aver}', Wood (New Plymouth); emergency: Brow (FJtham).

The play-off between Eginont and Tataraimakta will take place on Saturday at Tataraimaka. The following will play for Egmont:—Putt, Lepine, Osborne, Howell, Charters, Hammond, Hoby, Maunder, Newel], Outfield, and Howden. Emergencies: Hayden and McGregor.
