MWRTH TARANAKI OLUB. | !Aibout fifty members of the North. Tturanaki Hunt Club met at Messrs. Morris Bros.' property, Tapuae, yesterday afternoon, and some enjoyable sport eventuated. Within the next half hour the hounds again got on the eoewt, and a run of two and a ■' half miles over choppy country ensued before a kill took place on tile old road ■jf o» the Oalrura Hill. At the conclusion of the hunt, Mr. B. H. Chancy, deputy- '! master, thanked Messrs. Morris Bros, for extending the use of their iproperty • to tihe club, and also for the pains they had' taken in sparring the fences. Mr. Jae. Rothery, oi the Oakum Hotel, offered to entertain the «9ub to a ilinntr, but owing to the lateness of the season and previous engagements tihe chiih was uiiable to arrange a date, and regretfully had to decline the offer, which, however, will be available next year, and will be taken advantage ol early in the season. !The club will meet at Mr. Topliss' - Ruin, Waitui, next Thursday afternoon. is a fine piece of country for hunting overhand a good meet ds expected. . Mir. Topliss is going to great trouble, sparring no less than 52 fences, and is expeating a good gathering of members < and the public. The point-to-point steeplechase takes plaee at Mr. Salway's, Bell Block, on Thursday, 17th inst., for which a permit has been received, from the Minister of Internal Affairs.
