A WOMAN'S DEATH. By Telegraph— Press Association. Christchurch, Wednesday. At the inquest on Lena. Buchanan, aged 27, a married woman, the verdict was that death was due to septicaemia following child birth. Medical evidence was .to the effect that the case was a very bad one, but the doctors could not say whore the infection came from. The nurse who attended' the patient was unregistered, but was positive that she took all precautions. It was suggested that as >two people had died in tlhe same house the building might contain disease gemms. The coroner remarked that an unregistered nurse ran great risk in undertaking such cases. Oae of tKfe doctors 'Said l that hundreds of unregistered women were practising in Christchurch as mid-wives.
