COMMITTEE MEETING. J The first meeting of the new general committee of the society was held on ■ Tuesday evening, sixteen members attending, aawl Mr, W. Ambury, the president, presiding. All dairy factories in the Taranaki district axe ibeing circularised asking for support in the erection of the new (winter show building in New Plymouth. Mr. S. J. Smith's offer of a caw to be sold 1 for the benefit Of the winter show funds was accepted with thanks. The committee decided to offer tie cow, which is a. prize-winner and a splendid milk-producer, to the 17th August at the Waiwakaiho sale. A donation of two guineas will be made to the Taranaki Garrison Band for services rendered, and a guinea, to the! Ntw Plymouth orchestra. j The following new members were; elected! to the committee: Messrs. A. 'f.' Moore, E. Griffiths, S. Guscott, F. Orbell/j I). .Toll, 0. W. Sole. A. Morton, S. J. > Smith, K. C. Webster, and Fred. Corn-j wall. It waa 'also decided to elect dis- j trict committees for the outlying districts to foeter and maintain interest in. the society's doings, and to forward the j suggestions of the country members to j the. general committee. The committee in charge of the King' George Agriculture] Hall was re-elected, J as follows, Messrs. Ambury, Wood, Jack-1 sod, Oonnebt, Elliott, and Browne. j ■A schedule committee for the spring ghow was elected as under, and will meet next Tuesday: Messrs.. W. Ambury, A. W. Wood, F. Watson, J. S. Gannett, E. Elliott, and H. Bagley. A finance committee: Messrs. W. Ambury, A. W. Wood, L. A. Nolan, G. W. Browne, and J. 8. Gonnett It was decided to hold the next winter show in the second week in June, 1912 The conditions for the district competition were considered, and were agreed to as follows: The combined products of the fanners in any riding in the counties of the Taranaki province, also eno.h ridintr be allowed to make one or, more en trie s , they to define their own si^'-divisional boundaries in that riding. It was decWrd to again apply to the | Taranaki Jockey Club for the use of grounds and buildings for the spring aliow.

Messrs. Mackie and Co., distillers of the "Heather Blend" whisky, through I' their North Island agents, Messrs' Hawkins and Smith, have donated a v&luabl*. challenge cup for the hunters' leaping competition.—A resolution of thanks to Messrs. Hawkins and Smith for their efforts in' this matter was directed to he forwarded to them. It was decided to make a recommendation to the schedule committee to have the dogs on exhibition at both day? of the spring show, and that the pri,"monev in the jumping competition be greatly increased to attract outside competition. It was also decided to recommend that in the dual jumping competition the riders be gentlemen riders only, owing to the difficulty experienced by intending exhibitors in. securing the •mimlber of lady riders required under existing conditions.
