"JACK AND THE BEANSTALK." After a phenomenally successful run in | Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, the J. I C* Williamson pantomime, "Jack and the Beanstalk," will be seen here for one night on Monday next, and the old fairy story, with new music-hall trimmings, embellished by the appearance of the world-famous Pantzer troupe of acrobats, will doubtless surprise and charm. Spectacle of ail unusually fine calibre, an exceptionally clever company of comedians, a riot of costuming almost bizarre, a quantity of more than ordinary music, and a "book" reputed to be witty and entertaining to a degree, are, it is said, the main concomitants responsible for the wonderful success of "Jack and the Beanstalk." Amongst the miscellaneous features a marvellous acrobatic turn by the I'antzers is likely to draw all the town. Willy Pantzer's troupe, al-1 ways brisk, and with a pocket comedian' who raises a roar of laughter while the '•stars" are taking breath. The turn has been splendidly criticised in Au3tra- j lia, and has been described as the most! wonderful exhibition of acrobatic skill witnessed south of the line. ■ A special feature of the pantomime may be expected in the poetic beauty of the many ballets. The producer has made these and the marches a principal feature, and the dances arranged by Miss Minnie Everett are, it is said, exceptionally beautiful. A particularly handsoriie succession of scenes have been painted by Messrs Coleman, Board and Upward. Amongst the novelties is an aeroplane in the clouds, with the effect of movement secured by a specially clever mechanical device. Another big effect is that where the giant Blunderbore stalks across the stage, grasping in his left hand, a struggling, shouting human being, the hapless Miflins, who, although of moderate height, looks a pigmy beside his enormous captor. The box plan will be opened at Collier's to-morrow morning.
