WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT!

The following "little list" is put forward by "The Voice of Labor," which is published in Auckland as the organ of the Labor Party:— The people want: Cheaper meat and more meat. Cheaper butter and more butter. Cheaper houses and more and better houses. The people want: Steady employment. Good wages. Sanitary conditions. ■More security for the morrow. The people want: More old age pensions. Lowering of the age for old age pensions for both men and women. The people want: Pensions for widows.

Free, compulsory, technical and university education for every child born in the Dominion.

These are only a few of the things that the people want, but they want these things right now, and the political party that is going to win out of the hurlyburly of New Zealand politics is the party that can give the people the most of these things in the shortest possible time. •
