. PILLING THE VACANCY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. This afternoon the Speaker of the House of Representatives received a formal notification that the death of Mr. T. E. Taylor, late me miter for Christchurch North, has been registered. The House will be asked to pass a resolution' ordering the issue of n warrant to clerk of for an election. The writ will be returnable within 21 days, and as a week must be allowed, for a possible second ballot, the daite of election must be about a fortnight hence. REV. L. M. ISITT A CANDIDATE. Wellington, Last Night. The Prohibition Party leaders have.requested: the Rev. L. M. Isitt to be a caididate for the Christc'hurch North, seat, which has lteen rendered vacant by the death of Mr. T. E. Taylor, and he has consented. MAYORALTY OF CHRISTCIIURCH. FURTHER CANDIDATES FOR PARLIAMENTARY HONORS. Chrstehurch, Last Night-. At a, special meeting of the City Council to-night Mr. ,T. N J. Dougall, deputy-Mayor, was unanimously elected Mayor. The candidates selected for the Chriatchureh North seat are Rev. L. M. Isitt (No-Licenise candidate) and Mr. J. D. Hall (Opposition). The Labor Party will meet on Friday to consider the matter of the selection of a candidate.
