A CLERK'S REVENGE

Schottek, a clerk who was dismissed for drunkenness, as a revenge fired a great stack of timber at the Northern Railway Station. A huge conflagration ensued, and (iOO firemen, 3000 police and 2000 railwaymen fought the flames for eighteen hours, and prevented them igniting a warehouse containing 2000 tons of benzine. Schottek was arrested. Timber to the value of £50,000 was destroyed.
