The Mayor has declined to give a civic reception to the Sheffield Choir, in accordance with his rule not to receive money makers. The members of the Government cooperated with the public in tendering the visitors a welcome. Dr. Harriss vigorously denied the imputation that t.he choir were a lot of pot-hunters, declaring that the movement had cost him £IO,OOO. There was a crowded house for the I concert. ' . i :
