PLOUGHING MATCH

A final reminder Is given to our readers that the above takes place on Mr. W. Birdling's farm, Waitara, to-day, beginning at 10 a.m. There are sown entries for the double furrow, four for the single and one for the boys, so that with twelve competitors some good exhibitions of ploughing should result. In addition to the ploughing there are two horse-lea.ping competitions, and as a number of the members of the Hunt Club intend to compete, in addition to others, there is good material for a day's sport. The jumping competitions do not start until the afternoon. In addition there will be several chain-stepping competitions, the prizes for which have been donated. The entrance fee for this event will be one shilling, the prize being 10s. All patrons will receive a free ticket for the •jreigh.t-guessing competition, the prize for which is ono of Mr. Birdling's best fa;t sheep.
