Fitzherbert Hunters' Flat.—Jackman 1, Himitangi 2, Pukeroa 3. Also started: Sensation, Flying Cloud and Miharo. TAEANAKI METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Taranaki Metropolitan Committee was held on Tuesday night. Mr. C. M. Lepper presided, and there wtre also present Messrs. Sole, Thomson, Elliott, Orbell, Weston, Webster, Hempton, and Blundell. The following licenses were granted: Trainers', J. George, R. Johnson and R. Barlow; jockeys, R. Barlow and 11. E. Gray. The programme for the North Taranaki Hunt meeting, point to point steepiechase, on August 17, and annual race meeting on August SI, were approved, subject to a license being granted by the Minister of Internal Affairs. Authority to issue emergency riders' licenses for the meetings was granted. The Opunake Racing Club applied to have two names placed on the forfeit list. The following sub-committees were appointed:—Country clubs programmes, Messrs. L. A. Nolan, Weston and Standish; licenses, Messrs. Lepper, Sole and Standish. It was decided to meet on the third Tuesday in each month during the coming year. 1 Correspondence was read from the „ Racing Conference and the Hon. 0. ° Samuel. " 3 A hearty vote of thanks was accorded j the latter for his services as representa- . tive of the club at the late conference ,' held in Wellington.

TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club was held subsequently, the same gentlemen being present. Correspondence was read from the Hunt re alteration of date of race meeting from September 7 to August 31, and it was decided that they be allowed the use of the course on that date.

' A bonus of £3 3s was granted to the Christchurch Press Company towards the cost of printing the New Zealand Turf Register, 1910-11. The following sub-committees were appointed:—Course, Messrs. Lepper, Nolan, Thomson, Webster and Sole. ' Programme: Messrs. Lepper, King and Blundell.

The following officers were elected: ] Assistant clerk of the scales, Mr. W. C. Weston; time-keeper, Mr. J. Bennett; starter, Christmas meeting Mr. A. W. Budge, autumn meeting, Mr. C. O'Connor; handicapper, Mr. G. Morse. Mr. 11. Stocker was elected a member of the club. The North Taranaki Hunt was voted £lO 10s. It was resolved to call for tenders at a later date for publican's booth privileges for the season. ' The question of providing a duplicate set of saddle-cloths was referred to the chairman and secretary.
