A Dunedin telegram rep6rts that Mr. John Macphcrson, commercial master at the Boys' High School, died .from heart failure on Monday. Mr. .1. \V. Emmorson, of Waverley, died at the* Xew Plymoiil.li hospital yesterday, ilo was but 40 years of age. Ho leaves a widow and family of five children. 'JTic funeral takes place at Wayerler to-day. The Rev. TTaro'd Anson. M.A., rector of Biireh-in-Rusholmc, Manchester, has been appointed commissary to the Anglican Bishop of Wellington (Dr. Sprott). In the NavyList he is classed as an "officer who has passed for first-class ships and is actually on navigating duties." He also holds a medal for war service.
