SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast:— A south-easterly gale and heavy rain have been reported to-day from Cape Campbell and Blenheim, but variable muds and cloudy and changeable \reather 'hftve prevailed in the north. The ■barometer has risen slightly. No reports are available 'from the East Coast southward of Kaikoura owing to telegraphic interruption. Present indications are for cold, cloudy «nd unsettled weather generally. RUin is probable in most parts of the country. Southerly and easterly -winds, strong to gale, are probable generally, and a very unsteady barometer.
