SUMMARY AND FORECAST. ~ By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast:— Easterly winds, strong to gale, with ieavy ram, have been experienced northward of East Cape and Kawhia, and moderate to strong easterly winds thence to Kaikoura and Hokitika, with increasing cloudiness and showers in parts. Moderate north-easterly winds and fair weather have prevailed elsewhere, with a falling barometer. Present indications are for ram in all parts of the country, and easterly and northerly winds, strong to gale, will probably prevail. The lmrometeric pressure very unsteadv, but a temporary rise in the north is likely to be succeeded by a further fall, while the fall in the south ■will precede a steady rise and southerly ■winds with cold weather to follow for several days.
