NO. 2 BORE AiOTIVE.;; L For some weeks past preparations Slave bean proceeding under the supervision of Air. Keith, the manager, tor connecting u,p the Taraimki Petroleum OoHipany's No. 3 bore with the tamlc system as has been done ait No. 2 bore. The bore lias been drilled to a depth of 4013 ft., the deopest on the field, and it is expected tha/t When the casing is italpped opposite the various oil seams which were encountered during the drilling procen the well will provo just as Prolific as No. 2. The oil, which lias oame up laitdy, amounting in the average to 60 barrels weekly, has come up between tho four-inch and five-inch caatags, but when the work now ini he/nd ,1a finished it will flow through a twoiaeh pump tuibtog which the company recently acquired: for flhiis purpose. Yesterday a start was made, and the well immediately commenced to "play up." A blow-out occurred, and for a period of otct on hoilr oil and l mud were hurled high ab#ve the derrick, the escape of the tremendous farces Mow oft using a loud soaring which could be heard a gp-eat distance away. This effectually stopped the work for the thme bei*g.
