ACCIDENT TO SIR GEORGE REID

A MARVELLOUS ESCAPE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, July 7. Sir George Rcid was returning from church when the accident occurred. He pluckily took his daughter to a hospital, and then proceeded to the hotel and informed Lady Reid of the accident, and afterwards learned that his right arm was broken. Sir George Reid is suffering from severe shock. His son sustained cuts on tlie head and arm. His daughter was jambed between the door and the car, and was only extricated after the removal of the door. Eye-witnesses declare that it was marvellous anyone escaped alive. The patients have been conveyed to a nursing home. The King has again telegraphed enquiries.

Sir George Reid has cancelled his visit to Scotland to witness the opening of the Thistle Chapel, to which tht King had specially invited him. Sir George and Miss Reid are progressing favorably.
