BOXING
JOHNSON v. LANGFORD. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright. London, July 13. Great surprise has. been expressed at the Chronicle's publication of a Sydney cablegram, that a fight had been arranged between Johnson and Langford on the Sydney Sports Ground on December 26, and that the Government was generally supervising arrangements and receiving 10 per cent, of the takings. Johnson denies that he has been approached, and says he will not fight Langford without a bet of 10,000 dollars and a substantial purse for his end. Johnson is arranging a visit to Australia at the conclusion of his English engagement.
