SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast: — The barometer has risen everywhere, ■with strong .southerly winds, and cold weather has prevailed. Rain has fallen in most parts of the country and snow on some of the higher levels in the south. Present indications are for strong south-easterly and southerly winds, and cold and showery weather, especially on the East Coast of the North Island. The barometer will probably rise fairly high And the weather improve for a day or two. A westerly storm area will probably prevail in the South Island during the latter part of next week.
