AMERICAN AND ENGLISH UNIVERSITIES. ENGLAND DEFEATS AMERICA. By Oable.—-Press Association.—Copyright London, July 11. Oxford and Cambridge defeated Yale and Harvard Universities in an athletic competition five events to four. Received 12, 9.20 p.m. London, July 12. In the International-University contesta, America won the hurdles, Chisholm's time being 15 2-ssec., an inter-university reoord; also the high and long jumps, and half-mile. The English won throwing the hammer, the hundred yards, quarter-mile, mile and two miles. There was great enthusiasm over the English winning the final event.
