The fitting of the Gisborne Oil Company's second boring plant, recently purtlmsed in Taranaki, with a view of testing the_ seepages and obtaining a supply of oil fuel, is now nearing completion (says the local Herald). Transpoit didioulties have delayed the work but the linal load of material has been sent from town and should enable boring operations to be commenced within the next fortnight. The .scene of t'ho new bore is about a quarter of a mile from the \Vaitan"i well, and about 300 yards from the nearest seepage. The well is being sunk with a view to tapping the oil at the level in the main bore, which since the cessation of operations has been assettiug itself freely and comin ,r up between the casing. r
