THE TERRA NOVA.
A SURVEYING CRUISE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch', Last Night. The British Antarctic expedition ship Terra Nova loft Lyttelton this morning on her surveying cruise between Cape Maria Van Dieman and the Three Kings. The vessel left the wharf at 8.30 a.m.. and notwithstanding the early hour of departure there wis a crowd'of nearly 200 people on the wharf to see her off. Assisted hv tlie tug Canterbury, which gave her l>ow a pull round, tlie Terra left the wharf without any ceremony, and under her own steam passed out of the breakwater ten minutes later. She cleared tlie Heads shortly before 10 o'clock, and at noon was several miles off the shore, setting sail'beforc a fresh south-east wind.
