ROYAL VISIT TO IRELAND.
DUBLIN DELIGHTED. TACT rCS OF THE DISLOYALISTS. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright London, July 0.
The entry of the King and Queen into Dublin was characterised by an inspiriting display of loyalty. Replying to an address of welcome, the King regretted the briefness of his stay, and said that he and the Queen had desired to take the earliest opportunity of coming amongst the Irish people, in whose welfare their interest was deep and abiding. The Lord- Mayor did not meet their Majesties. The seats allotted to the Lord Mayor's party were plentifully bedaubed with fresh paint. The King opened the Royal College of Science, visited Trinity College, and attended the Phoenix Park races.
The reception to the King at Dublin exceeded all expectations. The Lord Mayor intended presenting the address at Leehon Bridge, which the corporation refused to sanction, but he was checkmated by someone bedaubing the seats with paint/ To-day the Royal party visited St. Patrick's Cathedral, and afterwards Maynooth College.
WARM,WELCOME TO MAYNOOTH. Received 10, 10.10 p.m. London, July 10. Six hundred students of Maynooth College were absent on vacation during the King's visit. Cardinal Logue and fourteen bishops received their Majesties and presented an address of welcome. The Cardinal added that they had followed the Coronation ceremonies with deep interest, and were able to share without reserve in the auspicious ceremonial.
The King replied that he was touched at the thought that Maynooth shared the joy of the Coronation, which was a great and sacred occasion in the lives of the Queen and himself. "The reception to-day," continued His Majesty, "is an example of the affectionate greeting always accorded by the warmhearted Irish people." Their Majesties aJterwards visited the Royal Military Hospital at Kilmainham, where 350 veterans paraded. " •
