The track was heavy, but the field got away together. Postle was the quickest into his stride, fund goon had a slight lead, which he increased to two yards at the hundred. Holway, putting in a fine finish, gradually overhauled Postle, and won easily by a yard. Taylor was three yards behind.
POSTLE'S OLD TROUBLE. Received 10, 12.20 a.m. Sydney, July 9. Postle attributes this defeat to a recurrence of an old trouble—the stiffness of a sinew of the left leg after paßsing the hundred yards. Taylor has not fully recovered from his recent indisposition.
