EARTHQUAKES AT BUDAPESTH. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright. Received 9, 5.5 p.m. Vienna, July 8. Two earthquakes, lsting three and four seconds, were experienced at Budapest]!. The people were panic-stricken, and left their houses. The shock was severely felt in the outlying district 5 , where hundreds of chimneys were overthrown.
CHARGE OF ESPIONAGE. Received 9, 5.5 p.m. St. Petersburg, July S. Madame Kresinka, a ballet dancer, lias been arrested on a charge of espionage. Documents have been seized pointing to the communication of important mili tary secrets to Germany and Japan.
NEW WESTINTiTIOUSE INVENTION. Received 9, 5.5 p.m. New York, July 9. Mr. George Westinghouse, of Pittsburg, lias announced that he has perfected an air spring wheel, which is intended to replace motor-car tyres.
ST. JOHN OP JERUSALEM. Received 9, 5.5 p.m. London, Jnlv 9. The Chapter-General of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem held a reception of oversea visitors in connection with the Ambulance Department.
