Sir John and Lady Findlay have left England for the Continent. Mr. Douglas Fry, the famous animal painter, Is dead.—London table. A London cablegram states that tlie Duchess of Argyll is suffering from acute laryngtis. The death is announced of Mr. Edward Dicey, C.8., author and journalist. —Press Association cablegram. It is rumored that Sir J. G. Findlay, Attorney-General, will contest the Wanganui seat at the general election. At the request of the Mannwaitu Flax Workers' Union, Mr. J. Roliertson', of Palmerston North, secretary to the Tarattaki Dairy Workers' Union, etc., has decided ito contest the Otaki electorate in the Labor interest. —Press Association.

Sergeant Iladdrell (writes a London correspondent) and his wife and daughter arrived ia London by the Ruahine after a pleasant trip, in spite of ploughing through 1200 miles of icebergs! Sergeant Haddrell, who lias been out in the Dominion for the last 45 years, intends, after the Coronation is over, to pay a visit to Devonshire. There he will meet his son Charles, who has been in America for some years. He expects to return to New Zealand next September.
