RACING COMMISSION

MEETING OF PROTEST. By Telegraph-Press Association. .... . Levin, Friday. , Public meeting convened bv the Mayor discussed the action of the Racing _ Commission in recommending the striking out of the Horowhenua Racing Club's .meeting. It was unanimously resolved to send a deputation to' the Minister of Internal Affairs, consisting of representatives of the two local sporting bodies and the Agricultural and Pastoral Association (all of which use the racecourse) and three borough councillors, to protest against the commissioners' action. A further resolution was carried, "That this meeting expresses a strong desire that country members of Parliament should unite in the common interests 0 f country racing clubs to oppose the unfair allocation of permits recommended by the Racing Commissioners."
