L. A. NOLAN & CO.'S RETORT. Poultry.—On Saturday we had a good entry, including several pens of purebred birds. There was a good demand for all classes, prices being about the same as the previous week. We quote: Hens Is 5d to 2s, cockerels Is 7d to 2.s (kl, roosters 1b to Is lOcl, ducks 2s 3d, purebred do. Os, purebred brown Leghorn cockerels 3s Gd, white Leghorn do. Os Od and 10s, hens 3s 2d, uiack Orpington cockerel 7s 00. In the mart a large quantity of furniture and plants were disposed of. Fruit—During the week consignments have arrived from Sydney, Auckland, Nelson and Hawke's Bay. We quote:— Apples, Stunners 8s 3d to Sis, Hoovahs (is 9d to Bs, Cambridge Pippins 7s to 8s; oranges, 6s 9d to 8s Od; mandarins, 13s; pineapples, 9s 3d; lemons, 9a; passions, fe. WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry—At the mart on Saturday we had our. pens well filled with all classes of birds, prices showing an advance on those of last week, laying hens and pullets being in demand. Hens, Is 4d to 2s, do. laying 2a Od to 3s 9d; cockerels Is 4d to 2s 3d, purebred brown Leghorn do. 5s to 10s; brown Leghorn pullets 4a to 5s Od, others 3s 6d to 4s; rabbits, Is Od per pair; store pigs, Os. Mart—A large quantity of sundries was disposed of at satisfactory prices. Furniture.—On Wednesday we held a clearing salq on account of Mrs. fiait at Fitzroy, prices obtained being very satisfactory. ;. 1

Fruit—Durihg the week this has been in fair supply on account,of the Island boat arriving with a large, cargo of oranges. We quote :~Bananaa, green 9s Od to lis (according to quality), ripe 2d per lb; oranges, originals 7s 6d to 8s Od, re-packs 9s fid to 10s Od; apples, colored desserts 9s to 9s fid, seconds 7s fid to Bs, Stunners 9s to 9s fid, cookers (short supply) fis Od to7s;mandarins lis to Ms Od; passions; os; pines, 9s to 10s; peanuts, 2%d.

LOCAL MARKETS. Butchers' Meat. Beef: Sirloin, 6d; prime ribs, sd; rump steak, 8d; beef, from 3d to 6d; corned beef, 4d ana sd. Mutton: Lege 6d; chops, 6d; loin, 3d; shoulders, 5d per lb; necks, 3d. Veal, 3d to 5d per lb. Sausages.: Beef, fid, pork Bd. Lamb: Legs, 6d; forequarters, 4s 6d; hindquarters, 5s 6d. Pork: Fresh, 6d per lb. Fowls. Ss to 6s per pair; ducks, 6s per pair. Dripping, 6d per lb. These prices are for cash only; y 2 d per lb. for booking over one week.
