The Meteorological Office has issued' Hie following summary and forecast:— The barometer has -risen everywhere, and moderate to strong southerly winds lwve prevailed. The weather has been cold, with unsettled and showery conditions in many parts of the country. Present indications are for moderate and variable winds generally, but increasing westerly winds about Foveaux Strait. High pressure will probably continue for about thirty-six hours, and cold and fair weather will probably prevail.
