SEQUEL TO PANAMA CANAL.

JEWS IMMIGRATE TO CALIFORNIA. Tens of thousands of Jews will immigrate direct to California on steamers from Europe following the opening of the Panama Canal, and the bulk will land at San Francisco, according to Dr. Louis Meyer, of New York, associate editor of the Missionary Review of the World, and a world authority on the Jewish missionary and immigration situation. Dr. Meyer, who is the guest of Lyman Stewart, president of the Union Oil Company, discussed the subject helore the Federation Club aind OTe Bible Institute recently.

"The Jews, who will come principally from Russia." he said, "will form a valuable addition to this country's population. If properly taken care' of they will become fine citizens. The Jews of San Francisco are already preparing for the great influx. * °

It will surprise many Americans to know that the Jewish is from 10 to 13 per cent, of all the immigration into this country. Only the Italians come in greater numbers. Now 73 per cent, of a'l the Jewish immigration is from Russia and 63 per cent, settles in New York."
