SOME CAKE RECIPES. Rich Olicap Cake.—Beat well tlie yolks of three eggs and the wliit.es of' two with one cup of fine cugar. Beat in one-half cup condensed milk, one and two-thirds cups sifted flour, two heaping teaspoons bilking powder, one-half tea" spoon lemon, one teaspoon of vanilla extract. Butter generously two large cake tins. Put together witti frosting made with one white of egg and two-thirds cup of sugar beaten together. Afternoon Tea Cakes.—One cup sugar, one cup raisins, one-half cup butter, one teaspoonful cinnamon, one-half teaspoonful cloves. Stir this together, and put on stove and let come to the boil. Cool, then add I wo cups of flour with one teaspoonful of soda. Put in gem pans, alnl bake in a, quick oven. A tea that you will appreciate is the "Mikado" Blend, a tea that costs but eighteenpence a pound, and tastes like that worth 2s. It is a good strong flavor,v tea, with plenty of body, and extremely pleasing to the palate. For family use it is unequalled, for it is inexpensive and good, it is worth a trial, and the trial will cost you Is (id, for that is the price of a pound of "Mikado" tea. Ask your grocer.—Advt.
