THE SHEFFIELD CHOIR.
SECOND CHRISTCHUROH CONCERT. By Telegraph—Press Association, Christchurch, Last hight. The second concert of the Sheffield Choir was given to-night. It was, despite the rain which began to fall early in the evening, as numerously attended as was the first concert. Owing to the adoption of methods to prevent crushing at the entrance there was an absence of crowding and consequent inconvenience thai, marked the arrival of the audience last night. The programme suumitted met with much appreciation, Dr, Harris' "Pan" appealing irresistibly to musical instincts of the audience, which gave the cofiifioHcr (who conducted) a hearty ovation at the conclusion of the piece. 'Dr. Harris, acknowledging, expressed the hope that the matinee to-morrow, i of the net proceeds of which go to the local Coronation Memorial Fund, would be crowded. In addition to "Pan," "Most Pair of Sirens" and "Sing Ye io the Lord," several part songs were given very successfully.
